Frequently asked

Straight answers.

Can't find your question? Ask our assistant at the bottom right.

Do you replace the notary?

No. We coordinate the file and work with partner notaries, who prepare the deeds. If you already have a notary, you keep them.

How are your fees set?

The first consultation is free. You then receive a written estimate based on the scope of the mandate. Notarial fees and brokerage fees follow the standards of their professional orders.

How long does a settlement take?

A simple estate often takes several months to a year. A property to sell, disputed debts or disagreement between heirs can extend that. We set milestones from the start.

Is the liquidator still responsible?

Yes, their legal responsibility can't be transferred. We make sure each decision is compliant, documented and justifiable, which lowers their personal risk.

What if the heirs disagree?

We coordinate without arbitrating: we document the points of disagreement, inform everyone of their rights and, where needed, recommend a mediator in estate law.

Can you take over a file already in progress?

Yes. We review what has been done, identify the gaps and continue from whatever is already valid.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. We serve clients across Quebec, by phone, video or in person, in English and French.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. It's used only to settle the estate and shared only with the professionals working on your file.
